are you talking about your 12 gallon? Is it an all in one unit like biocube or aquapod?

right now i have a 12 gallon nanocube, but i cant put sps in there because my lights are not strong enough. i only have power compact. and im wondering what lights or equipment i need so i can put sps corals in my 12 gallon.

you will probably need a metal halide unit over it. You may run into water quality issues because it is only 12 gallons. Check out the nano thread and see what other people are doing and what issues they have come across.

well, not only will you have water quality issues, you may have heat issues too. Its a shallow tank with little water. Things can get VERY hot. Not to mention evaporation and the like. An SPS tank that small would be rather difficult to maintain. Not impossible...but difficult. I had a 10 gallon nano under power compacts once...and that was a little worrisome. it was my first marine tank too and i didnt knw what i was getting into.

I would stick with lps and softies. In my aquapod I have a hammer, acans, candycane, toadstools mushrooms blue clove polyps kenya tree, gsp and a few rock nems. They are all doing Awesome. They all do better in there than they did in my 150 with the MH that I keep my few sps frags in.
