I have a photocell for my tunze pumps so they tone down at night.

Should this be used in my sps tank? Ive never plugged it in, how much light will it respond to?

Anyone have an opinion on nighttime flow?

The ocean never stops so why should your aquarium. I run mine 24-7.

Thats what I assumed but the ocean does change with the tides so I was not sure.

Also, some people turn their lights off for a day once a month and that helps, this also does not occur in the ocean (unless there is some kind of massive volcano going off).

Since we are dealing with closed conditions I feel that things could be different.

I use mine. It slows the Tunzes just a little when lights are off.

I don't turn my streams down at nite. I use the photocell for the moonlight tho.

I use mine and feel I should give the fish some time off and sleep well IMHO. Not that big of a deal to have them off for I portion of the 24-day, especially since I am not feeding during that time anyway and do not need the flow to flush the corals, etc.
