wondering how people have chaetomorpha in their refugiums. Do you guys have it floating around or anchored down to the substrate ?

I have other types of macro's in the fuge, and if I let the spaghetti free floating, won't it just gather in one area at the top and block light off from reaching other things in the fuge ? So, wondering if people anchor the spaghetti down to the bottom (though it looks like it prefers to float around like gracilaria).

I have a Chaetomorpha-Derbesia complex drifting. A bit of thick fishing line poked right through the mass and tied to the pipe keeps it away from parts it shouldn't be shading.

The downside is that the air-exposed portion is the site for some decomposition, which makes the mass self-sustaining to some degree, rather than a true scrubbing agent for nutrients.

Still saves on real estate, though.
