View Full Version : Possible Reef Crystals Problem?

11/22/2008, 07:56 AM

I had purchased several buckets of OI Reef Crystals a while ago. We are now using the last bucket.

We performed a water change on our 180g using the last bucket (opened the bucket to do this change). Immediately after the water change the SPS's closed up. They have now been closed for for two weeks. We followed with another water change in hopes of improvement after one week, using the same bucket of salt, and no improvement.

All of our parameters are very good, I'm happy to go over them with you.

The numbers from the bucket of salt are:
1 00 51378 017067
RC1-160P 03/05

Then a label: 26-1170

I'm wondering if this is a bad bucket of salt? If not, we are at a loss as to the cause of the demise of our SPS corals.

I appreciate your attention to this matter. Please let me know any additional information you need.

Thank you for your post. We are sorry to hear that your SPS Corals are not opening. We have not heard of any concerns from Instant Ocean regarding recently sold batches of Reef Crystals, however, we will contact them on Monday with the information you have provided. We have PM’d a few questions that we would need you to answer before trying to determine why you may be having this problem.
