I was thinking about ordering the sun pod pro 48" for my 90G . 2 x 250 HQI metal halids . Is there any draw backs to not having any suplemental lighting . Any one have this light and do they like it any problems . I found some 3 year old threds on the sunpod but nothing new . Thanks

I am also thinking of getting a sun pod pro. Can anyone give the spacing between the lamps?

I'm using the 48" SunPod and it's working just fine. I'm not sure if it's the Pro model. The footprint is slim so it fit's nicely on a bowfront tank. Lots of LED lighting to provide supplemental light when the MH are off. If I had the room above my tank I would have liked to have had a MH/T-5 light configuration. That would provide more lighting options during off peak hours and allow for different effects of actinic lighting. Overall I would say it's a good value for the money.

I like the light. Some say they do ok w/o the extra lights but I like the dusk and dawn affect from leds or pc's
And you don't get that w/o these, just one one color and off one color. Blah

it all depends on what color you like. and if you can get that color with a MH bulb only.
