Chalice question

I obtained a small chalice frag with no mouth. How long does it take for it to form a mouth on the existing piece of coral, is spot feeding a waste of tine until it forms a mouth? Can I do anything to speed up the process?

That's a very good question. I don't know the answer to the first part of your question but spot feeding would be a waste of time if there is no mouth. Keep us informed if it forms a mouth. I have often wondered about fragging some of my chalice's without a mouth but wasn't sure if it would ever form one. Keep me posted.
