I bought this torch coral 9 days ago. It is in my 130 gallon tank about half way up. My lights are LED and running about 9 hours a day. When the lights are off, the polyps retract almost all the way and they are a darker green - like the lower head. I have been able to feed it small pieces of shrimp every 2-3 days. This is the first LPS in my tank so I'm a little nervous about it. Any thoughts?

Doesn't appear to be bleaching, but I would say the current is way to high for it in that spot.
Move it to a very quiet spot and see if the other head opens fully after a few days.
It is normal for them to close up at night.

I think it looks good, tissue recession on the stoney part of the coral would be the first thing to look out for if you think it is in ailing health

na, looks good to me. I've seen mine receed just to poop, so it's probably fine. If it was bleaching you'd know it. When they bleach the tissue will start to melt and just blow away.

They all close up at night. I have 3 different hammers, 3 different frogspawns, and 3 different torches, all of which close at night.
