Galaxea horrecens is a branching variety. Have a neat skeleton of it on my balcony, really cool growth structure. Keeping looking around, it is out there.

Did a little voodoo dance to revive this thread :D

So I picked up a branching galaxia frag (good size, too) from DFS DD the other day. Any info on care would be appreciated. It's a very cool looking coral. Kind of sort of reminds me of black sun coral when it's closed up.

They are pretty durable IME, just don't nuke them with light and you're fine, under lower light they develop a deep green.

IIRC the genus is considered to be Archelia, not Galaxia.

OK, that was my main question. Since being on my frag rack it has lost its green sheen. I will move it down. Thanks.

He got his from doc.fosters too.

Wasnt around long enough to post pics of- but no worries yet- his loss was from forseen circumstances...tank crashed.

Good luck with yours SD guy! Lets see some pics!

I'm glad someone revived this thread. I didn't know branching galaxia existed, but now I have to have one! One of the first things to go into my tank was a normal galaxia. If I can ever find a branching one, I'm going to make the swap.

Mine has been doing very well on the floor of my tank, and already has growth!! I finally mounted it...

Here's mine, I'm going to move it down a bit as it is tan color and want to get the green to shine. And how much did you guys buy your frags for?
