Hello Folks,

at the moment I have a Predator tank with about 100 gallons, but I'm planning a bigger one and I'd like to hear your opinions about it.

I'd like to have a tank about 6-7 feet long, 2-3 feet deep an about 2 feet high.

I'd like to keep morays, frogfish and perhaps little shark.

Do you think this tank is big enough for one or two smaller sharks? And if so, which species do you recommend?

Is it better to buy eggs, or would you recommend young sharks?

I'm also very interested in rays, but I have heared a lot, that rays don't go in a tank at all...?

Which other predators can you recommend for a tank of that size?

Thanks for hints, critics and recommendations!

Welcome to Reef Central!

I don't know much about sharks, but a frogfish is really for a species only tank. They tend to either eat other fish or get picked on.

In a 84x36x24 tank, you could keep a pair of coral cat sharks. Eels, groupers, tangs and rays are all good tankmates. I am really not up to date on rays, hopefully someone else will chime in with that.

@ all: thanks a lot for these fast hints!

@ DamnPepShrimp: the measures of your recommendation of a tank 84x36x24 are inches, right?

Sorry about my bad English, but do you have the scientific name or a link about "groupers" and "tangs"? The search-function does not work at the time (at least at my PC) so I can not look for these fish.

Which rays can you recommend for a tank?

Agreed on not putting anglers in there - if your other things are big enough to not be at risk from the frogfish, it will be at risk from them.

Ok about groupers and tangs I found out, what species these fish are, and it seems that they are according to my taste.

Somebody an idea about rays?

Which species are suitable for a tank about that size?
