I siliconed a few new cross braces ontop of the walls of my tank. Both 6" wide and 1/4" thick.
I was asking about curing time and 48 hours seemed to be the consensus. So I left it 72 hours actually and then removed the clamps.
What I noticed is that if I pull up on the braces from underneath, they do not move noticeably but the silicone gets a kind of crazing too it. Then if I press it back down, it goes back to solid or clear.
Does this mean it is either not dry or did not work correctly. I asked someone else and they thought maybe its just because silicone stretches.
Should I redo them?
I actually tried to get one brace off using fishing line (which has worked for me in the pat) but I wasn't able to do it. If I just pull up on them, it feels like the glass brace is going to break.
Opinions?
