Hi everyone, i think i have a problem,
two weeks ago i started noticing some STN on one of my green stag acros, i made all the water quality checks and things where a little off but not to big to fix. So tonight i was do my routine night time tank check and found what i first thought was little bits of dark green algea on my frag rocks and egg grate.

remebering that i had seen the same thing 2 weeks ago i didnt think to much about it, then some movement caught my eye, green things move and are very flat; and they look alot like a spade with litte white eyes.

here are some pics, sorry about the quality but thats as close as my cheap camara will go;

Any help would be great, am i faceing the death of my tank:(

when i pulled the rock out of the water they went from that ace of spades look to a round ball seen above then they move around like slugs or a worm of some kind.

Those are just planaria flatworms, the kind that you use flatworm exit to get rid of.

They don't eat or bother corals (in most cases), but they usually are just eating dieing flesh. The trick is keeping them under control either through running a course of regular flatworm removal chemicals, a specialized fish to eat them (think wrasses), or reducing nutrients in the tank. They tend to multiply more when the nutrient levels are high.

Personally, I know I've seen them here and there occasionally in my tank, but only on dieing flesh, and never in huge numbers. I used to have a sixline wrasse, but haven't seen him in months... so yeah... But the flatworms don't grow in huge numbers, and have not been bothering anything in my tank
