ive had my tank set up for a year now and last night i purchased a powder brown, ive wanted one since i set up my tank but i have watied. my tank is a 4ft 65 gallon tank. in it i have two ocellaris clowns, six line wrasse, diamond goby, serpant star and the new powder brown and not alot of corals.

what is the best food to feed along with how often for the tang to thrive. it does eat frozen food, grazes the rocks and i got sallys seaweed salad for it to eat but it dosent seem to touch it at all. i just dont want it to get skinny on me and want to make sure it has all of its health requirements met for a healthy immune system.

You can also try mysis shrimp, nori.

You could try Romain Lettuce to get him started. It is not very nutritious but after he eats that he should eat nori if you switch to that.

I find my tangs like a lot of variety. Even flake and pellet food. I soak all food (except flake) in Selcon and Vitachem, plus Garlic. They also get mysis, and every day I put nori on a clip.

Just keep offering different things. I think their tastes expand as they see other fish eat.

the tang accepts frozen foods and today i got some red nori and it devoured it. im currently researching food recipies to make my own food that will feed everything in my tank including my corals. i was told by my lfs a long time ago that they recomend me to only feed my fish every other day. i thought.. thats not the way they feed in the wild and i wanted them to thrive and not to be just sustained so i do not feed that way. i feed once a day or two small feedings a day and am always looking for better foods to give my fish and corals.

thanks for your suggestions.
