Well I have Been Running Something of a Experiment,I have Four Groupers in a 135 Gallon Tank.I have Always Liked Groupers alot and Was Always afraid to Try Something Like This.Without Buying 10 Large Tanks For Individual Groupers,I Decided to Take a Chance on Mixing Some in a Large Tank.I Have a SaddleBack around 6 Inches Long and Two BlueSpot Groupers 5 Inches Long and the Other is 4 Inches Long.I have a 5 Inch Blue Powered Grouper Well I must Say I have Had them Together for over 3 Months Now With No Problems. The SaddleBack is the King of the Tank and He Doesnt Mess With Anyone Now I Know that He can Grow Large and So will the Powered Blue in Time They Will out Grow That 135 Tank. But Considering How Little They Have Grown I Figure I can Probaley Have Them a Few Years.I was Wondering Does anyone Else have a Mix of Groupers and How Has it Worked out for You and Your Fish.:)

Reefer334 has, hopefully he will respond....I know it takes a big tank and a lot of caves.

Got a pic?

Your brave!

I couldn't even really keep up with one grouper in a 130 with a 70G sump. Nitrates were steady over 25 just because of how much he ate! He was about 9-10" I guess and seemed kind of cramped too. I found a nice 400G tank for him though. Apparently he is already king of that tank.

I would love to see pics.

LOL..yeah sorry...I forgot Im not in the "Reef forum" ;)

I am just kind of obsessed with keeping nitrates down to 0. Or at least close.

For me it is the dreaded n-word.....I can't afford to be obsessed over them, but am thinking about setting up a dsb in the sump or remotely to help out.

But regarding groupers, I haven't owned one in quite a while.

My Nitrates Run High around 40 to 50 Normally I Do Have a Large Coral Life Super Skimmer that Takes out alot of Gunk.I have other Fish in there 2 Black and white Clowns a Small Huma Huma and a Coral Beauty and a Small Dwarf Hawk Fish and a DottyBack.I have a Leather Coral and a Lot of Mushrooms. But everything Seems Fine in there I have not Had Any Problems in there.I am Thinking of Adding a Puffer as Well as Getting another Coral Life Super Skimmer For More Filteration.I Just Have not Decided on the Puffer I was Thinking a Porc Puffer they are so Cool. But they Get so Big and some of My Fish will already Grow Big.So I am thinking a Small Puffer I just Got to Look around a Little More.Any Ideas on a Small Puffer?I could use Some Advice on them Thank You.

Most grouper grow very fast when fed well. IMO, that group can't last long without a war or a serious bio-load problem.

Broiled, with just a little tarragon. (keep that herb a secret.)

I had a panther grouper that grew 4" in 8 months and now I have a miniatus and he has gown 2" in 3 or so months. The only fish that I have had that grows faster was a Snapper-1" per month, could eat 3 whole shrimps at one eating time, so he had to go, not enough for me
