Here is what I am working with:
1) 55 g. Pepsi barrel (to hold kalk/vinegar mix) with the top cut off which will be used for a lid.
2) Newly purchased Reef-Filler 1000-1 3 GPD (Actually it is a Chem-tech Pulsafeeder). By the way, this pump does not make any noise so far. I am pleasantly surprised.
3) existing float switch.
The main questions are regarding the Pepsi barrel holding tank. Should I install a drain at the bottom to periodically remove the sediments? Would it be better to install the pump on top of the tank or drill another hole in the side of the tank and let the solution gravity feed into the pump? Will I need a stirring pump? I am still trying to figure out an easy way to to periodically fill this tank and keep the proper kalk/vinegar/rodi ratios. I am adding 3 tsps kalk/ (I know too much) vinegar/1 g. rodi water. :)
