I am currently in the final phases of a 375gal build (red house). I will have a 75gal frag tank and a 75gal fuge located, one above the other, on the wall opposite the main display tank. Fuge and frag will each have dual 1 1/2" overflow pipes. Return will be driven by a Dart - meaning approx. 2000 GPH. The overflow pipes will go along 3 walls and then into the sump.
So what are your thoughts about combining the four 1 1/2" pipes?
1. Would you leave all four separate?
2. Would you combine the four into two 1 1/2" pipes( or 2")?
3. Would you combine all four into one 2" pipe (or 3")?

if you made them all seperate you could use unions and valves incase you had to shut one off if it had a problem and remove it for some reason with out shutting down your frag tank or fuge
just a option though not sure of pipe size

When I had my 180 All 4 of my drains went into 1 2" pipe with a dart running as a return.

I would combine them into one oversized drain back to the sump, since they are overflow pipes it would be fairly easy to change down the road if needed

Thanks for the feedback!
Bruce, it sounds as if you had my exact configuration. You never felt that the one 2" pipe was reaching its limits? That's the road I'd like to take.

There was alot of flow coming out but never had a problem. Boydx6 has the same setup without a problem

Bruce, sounds like what I need to do is integrate yours and Elliot's ideas with Ferrit's. Then I'll be good to go. :)
