They both look great. Is one more stable than the other? also, depending on what kind of corals you plan on getting one may be better for attaching them.

I kind of like the lower look of the second picture, thats just for me! GL w that!

#2. I actually prefer the look of #1, but the flatter surface of #2 will give you more coral-anchoring options.

Especially if you put a longer-polyped coral like xenia or a big beefy sinularia.

Both are nice but I find #2 more visually appealing.

Cool red zoas by the way. Darth Maul?

I like picture #1, coral placement does not always have to go up and down. I don't think coral breaks off in the ocean and lands standing straight up. Go with #1, I like the height!

I like #1, since a 29g is tall, and it looks like there are two islands, IMO it just looks better.

where did you get that great looking rock?

Stability should be a factor, that being equal I like #2 best as besides looking great, it gives you more options for coral placement even the possibility of adding more rock later if you find you'd like to get more height to it.

WOW, thank you all for the input...looks so far that #2 has won.

redfishsc. I'm not sure what the zoas are. I got them in a trade a while back.

knight03. I've had the rock for a year or so in another tank...it's just new to this set up. It's Premium Aquatics Marshall Island but I don't think they sell MI anymore sadly.

I really appreciate you all helping me..at least I'll sleep tonight and not get up at 2 a.m. to "re-scape" LOL.

#2, as others have said, more area for frags.
