I've seen alot of pics and most of what I see are crazy purple. So whats the secret??? I left mine on the sand bed for sometime and they are brown, but when I shine a moon light on it I can see some purple but its not that intense purple I see in many pictures. Any secrets???

What kind of light are you running? I have the factory Current USA t5's and they seem to stay purple no matter at the top or bottom of the tank.

Mine show their best purple in shade. When they're directly under the halides, they brown out.

Mine looked like my avatar in the shade. Not a bad color but I wanted more purple to them. They are now much higher. They look the purplest looking from the top-down.

I am running a 250w mh, 20k
And when I first got it, it was purple but after a month it browned out completly. So am I suppose to put it in a shadded area like near the buttom??? or a place like a cave??? And would more light make it grow faster???
I'd like to add, how long will it take for them to unbrown??

Mine seems to as well. What do you dose in the tank?
Have you noticed that the most intense purple corals are photographed from the top down? :)

Ah thats true.
And another note I don't know if this applies to zoas or not but I noticed that t5's brings out more color than halides. Mine is all browned so I'm going to move it around.
And whats the growth rate of these palys?

I can't argue with the T5 theory! My PDs grow rather quickly. I started with 1 polyp about 18 months ago & probably have around a 50 now.

The polyps on mine are still small but they are getting slammed by flow and loving it, not to mention I am seeing lots of new growth.
They are on the bottom of my 90 in some shade showing a deep purple.
I imagine the colony will not be large and expanded due to the flow but the growth should be nice.
