is a 180 big enough for a sohal?

No.

I think if it were like an 8ft tank, you'd be okay.
And I think a juvenile would be okay for a while. I've heard juveniles don't always get too big.

But Sohals are known to be m-e-a-n, so it likely would take out its frustration on your other tankmates. They can and will kill any other tangs and fish added after them.

As someone posted earlier: (too) small tank + mean fish = heartache for you.

I agree with Matt. I had to remove one from a 350 gallon tank because it was killing fish. The smaller the tank, the bigger the problem.

yeah the only real solution is to have ssooo many distractions for the fish it cant pick on any one particular fish and in a 180 thats just not possible. my lfs has like 30-40 fish in a 300 gallon! like 7 or 8 tangs including a 8-10 inch sohal tang and the fish is really mean but there are just way too many fish to pick on
