hi

i have been researching into skimmers for my rsm and have tried to purge through the massive rsm forum.

I have found out people can mod the existing skimmer, fit a hang on the back, fuge/sump, Tunze9002 & deltec mc500 in place of existing.

Just wondering if there are any other options? as i feel the 9002 is too small and i cannot get a deltec til feb (little old New Zealand).

Has anyone fit a Tunze 9005?? or are they too big?

thanks

You should go with the Tunze 9002, it is not too small for this tank. There are no good mods to the stock skimmer, they have all failed.

I would say 90% of replaced skimmers in the RSM, go with the Tunze 9002

The Deltec would be a better choice. I would wait until Feb and just do the water changes and go skimmerless til then. The HOB by Deltec is an awesome skimmer. I have Bubble Kings on my 2 tanks....if they only made a HOB......

yes, it is extremely quiet, the fans on the hood are lounder than the Tunze.

I've heard nothing but great reviews on the Tunze's.. especially the fact that they're almost silent
