I had these growing on my LR when I setup my tank and just wanted to make sure they are zoas and not something else...they close up like a zoa would so...just playing it safe. And if anyone knows what kind they are? Thanks!

play it safe and keep them from other rocks so if they are aiptasia they will not spread as fast. just keep those guys in check.

Guaranteed not aptasia! Look like baby paly's that have not seen a lot of light.

looks like harmless polyps... not a pest anemone in my opinion.

flick it with something. does it close, or does if retract all the way into the rocks. that'll give you your answer anemone vs paly.

Yea, as I mentioned in my original post, they definitely close up like my button zoas. I just have never seen white/clear zoas with a green center before...kind of unusual to me, so I just wanted to check in case I was missing something. 100% not aptasia because believe me, I've had my fair share of aptasia problems and I know what they look like. As czzarnik said, maybe they will darken as they mature...I didn't know that they did that, but nothing surprises me anymore in this hobby

+1 on the buttons. I've got about 30-40 on one of my rocks. they will color up with light.
