Yellow leather dying off, what should I do?

My yellow leather I purchased from LFS yesterday has dieoff. It smells very bad. What should I do?

A pic of the injured area may help, but in general, a coral dip might improve things, as well as either cutting away the dying tissue with a clean razor blade, or gently scrubbing away the bad tissue with a tooth brush, etc. Then give it lots of flow and hope for the best.
