Green Chromis :x

Ok, i had a green chromis as my first fist in my Nano 12.
He was in for like a week and a half, and the first week he had spots ( i think from stress ).
So last night he was looking fine, and i got like 15 lbs of rock, and a couple frags of kenyas.
Today i got about 10 snails, 10 crabs, and a turbo snail ( pretty big :) ) and later while i was at work, the green chromis DIED. He had those spots on him again, and he was hiding in the corner all night. could he have possible died of stress? I am 85% sure my perameters were stable & good.

Please help me.

P.S. what should i do about a fish?

BTW: He did not eat the small flakes but maybe 2 small bites every once in a while.

Did the tank cycle? He might have had ich which I believe kills fish and since chromis are a small fish they would die faster than a larger fish. I would wait at least six weeks before another fish that way all the ich dies off. Also qt fish is a good idea.

1. let the tank cycle all the way...how long has it been running?
2. I'd take out those crabs unless you want your fish to keep dissappearing
3.I'd also take out that "big" turbo snail unless you want to keep picking up the rocks he knocks over

Describe the "spots." Did it look like it had been sprinkled with salt? If so, it was probably Ich. If that's the case, the only way you'll get rid of the Ich in your tank is to keep the tank fishless for at least 8 weeks...while treating all fish in a hyposalinity for the same 8 week period.

Well the spots on him were like 2 or 3 random discolored scales. Not SUPER noticable. And i could tell he was stressed, he was like panting at an almost verticle angle close to the air.

What is the QT fish?

im new if someone could fill me in on alot of the abrv. please? haha

thanks alot guys. My dad mentioned ich when he first got the spots, but then they were gone the next day.

Btw, i was just checking the tank out.....i think my big crab thinks he is a snail, or is jealous of the snails. he was trying for like 3 minutes to climb the glass. sign of ich??? just kidding

Why would the crabs make the fish dissappear?

usually rock goes before clean-up crew, which goes before fish.
