How often should I feed duncans? Things I have read say things like frequently? does that mean daily? weekly? any input would be welcome. I have been feeding them frozen brine shrimp and mysis shrimp. What foods would people recommend.

thanks

I never fed mine and they didnt grow, but were still healthy from the lighting they recieved. I switched to feeding once or twice a week and went from 2 to about 15 heads. The original 2 were not very flowy or open, but once I fed, they open up much more and look a lot nicer.
Also brine is terrible unless you soak it in something for added protein, but squid is a great growth food.

I am a little lost on the brine shrimp being a terrible food. Squid has only 2.25 % more protein than b.shrimp unless I am mistaken?

There must be more opinions on what to feed duncans

I mostly feed mine frozen mysis, occansionally chopped up krill or my homemade mix. I feed them about once a week but I'm not trying to make them grow, they are big enough already.

I have never fed mine, and they have gone from 12 heads to over 70 in about 8 months.

I blast mine with Rods food so it contains a bunch of different food sources. They are much fuller and happier it seems when fed regularly. I feed them every other day.
The rate they grow at when fed heavy would make you think they were a softie like Xenia.

Most people I know that grow anything from mysids, to fish fry, to seahorses use brine with selco which I guess isnt protein enhancement, but will help with growth.

I feed mine once in a blue moon, they have always grown fast for me.
I have fed them soaked NLS pellets in the past and I regularly feed with mysis.

you don't NEED to feed them, but if you DO they will grow quickly. i have just used mysis for the most part. daily/every other day, and they grow quite fast.

i was feeding mine regularly and they grew quite fast,, now i dont feed them but they do eat left overs from spot feeding my chalices. They have not grown any bigger but they do look happy.
