Screen blanks out....Sometimes???

Hi there,

I was wondering what the issue is with my controller. I have had it over a year with no worries. And now the controller blanks out when it is plug in for a few days. When that happens everything gets stuck in the ON or Off position, no backlight no response at all. If I unplug it for a while then plug it in the controller comes to life again and functions as normal (after i put the date and time back in). But after a few days it fails again. Unplug and the cycle repeats. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is? Software failure or Hardware?

I hate to say this, but I'm betting a hardware failure, possibly in your powerbar based on my recent experiences with my powerbar dying.

OK I'll try that. The weird thing is I have tried two different power bars and it does the same thing. At a loss on this one, I'll try Aquatronica...

Had similar issues, mine ended up being replaced.Have heard possible causes are power surges messing up the control unit.

I bought my unit in Hong Kong. I'm in Shanghai now, does anyone know if can I get a new unit in the US and have it work on my 220V power bar system here in China? I'm assuming it should be no problem as it is DC powered by the power bar...
