Canister HELP!

I got a Hydor 30 Canister to use for my 75 Gallon tank. This is my first time using a canister and am not sure if I have it set up right. Its been about 3 hours and all that has been going on is a tskk tskkkk tskkkk sound coming from it. I dont see any water going or out. I filled up the priming chamber like it says. Maybe do I need more water in it?

And YES, the valves are open.

Why do you have a canister filter? They are not generally recommended for reef tanks.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that this is for a FW tank. Hoping someone here has some experience with them.

Maybe you have the in and out hooked up the opposite way. Check your lines for proper connection.

Also, make sure the seal is good, it the canister is sucking air it won't pump.
