ASM G3 Sedra 5000 is nosiy! Possible Mods?

Has anyone modded the sedra to not be so noisy? Im interested in switching out the sedra for 2 or 3 small quiet and efficient pumps. Has anyone tried this? Maybe its even possible to build a sound dampening box around the sedra.

Its sounds odd to me, I ran a Sedra 5000 for a couple years and It was very quiet. Have you ever had it apart??

Should run fairly quiet... are you getting vibration noise or air sucking noise? If the air is the problem you can make a DIY silencer out of some clear tubing and waterbottle caps. If it is vibration perhaps you can set something under the pump.

im getting vibration noise/hum. Its the loudest of everything, i figured if i want to make things quiter i should start here. Iv seen skimmers with multiple smaller pumps. Wouldn't like 3 small pumps be much quiter?

Have you taken it apart and cleaned it recently? Mine was a littlle gummed up, and that helped a bit. I also made a bed of silicone to place pump on top of, and made sure it wasnt touching the glass of my sump, and that seemed to help alot. I am definately making that silencer.
