Hi All,

I bought a "Supermale" McCosker's Flasher Wrasse from the Divers Dens about a month ago. He hid for two days then has been eating like a champ since then. A few days ago I noticed he wasnt out in the open like he normally is and only comes out when I feed the tank but wont take any food. Truthfully, he seems to be blind and is slowly wasting away. He swims strange now and bumps into things.

I remember seeing a few other posts about this same problem with Divers Den McCoskers. Anybody have any news on this?

Thanks for any help.

Slowly wasting away might indicate internal parasites. I had that happen to a carpenter's. Not sure about the vision part of it. My carpenter's did not have that problem while he wasted away. It was very active up to ~ 2 days before he passed.

Had a similar thing happen to a yellow fin flasher recently. Did great for a while and all of a sudden deteriorated quickly. Gone in a day. Wasn't from divers den though.

I had a flasher also have this issue... was perfectly fine and then suddenly would hide until food was placed in the tank - only to refuse to eat. Died after a few days of this.

what would you use to treat these fish?

praziquantel or metrodonozal in a hospital tank.
