nova extreme vs nova extreme pro

ok i currently have a nova extreme 48" t5 (4x54) and my question is which is better:

(2) nova extreme 48"t5 (54x4) fixtures (one i already have)
(1) nova extreme pro 48" (6x54)
....or other......................note the tank's width is 24" so trying to get a fixture that will fit the top and leave room for tank maintenance. thanks

Well the pro has 2 more bulbs right off the bat so more growing power and more control over what colour you prefer. The pro also has better reflectors than the extreme hence more light.In the end it all depends on what you want to grow in the tank

if i had a choice i would go with the Pro over the extreme. but you must also take into account for the added room needed for your equuipment like you said.

but have 6 T5's is better then having 4 T5's any day of the week!!

if you look closely at the post, what i meant to say is nova extreme 8 x54 in two fixtures(four in one and four in the other) vs 6 nova extreme pro (6x54)..........one fixture pro vs two nova extremes

if there is room, i'd say get another nova extreme like you have now. you'll have more bulbs than w/ 1 nova extreme pro (even though no individual reflectors) & you'll have moonlights to boot.

w/ 2 of them, you could do a nice 3-way lighting schedule
(2) actinincs one fixture - early & late schedule
(2) 6k midday in other fixture - on after actinics in morn & before actinics in aft
(2) 10ks in each fixture...4 total - on middle of day

that's how i'm gonna do mine....except i have (3) 2-bulb retrofits
