a new outbreak of ich has forced me to dismantle my rockwork. upon removing the rock i saw that all my hidden sand was covered with a 1/4" layer of dirtus. now i know i can vac my sand bed to remove most of it,but is there a creature that will help eat what i miss? my tank params are all still good including nitrate witch is 0 ppm. how can this be with so much dirtus and gunk on the bottom?

If it was buried under rock and such, there may be little you can do, but if it is available and out in the open, organisms such as sea cucumbers may consume some of it. :)

OK, good luck. :)
bumblebee snails are pretty good at eating some of it.
