I got this from a post in the other thread>
newmoon:
The 1S and 2S models WILL fit in a 12" wide sump.
The 1A (ASOR) in single pass mode will fit physically, but it looks like the intake of the Askoll might be restricted by the sump wall with it in there. I would say that 14" wide would be better for the 1A in single pass.

I brought a 29g AGA with me to the shop today and used it to check them.

Ricky, the smallest space that will hold a 1S is 12" x 17", and the height is 24" with another 1/2" needed to remove the cup.

Jeff,
Is this skimmer over kill for a med to heavy stocked mixed reef 70g dispaly w/ a 29g sump/fuge?

Or would I be better off w/ a MSX160?

I would say that the 1S is slight overkill for that system...but it depends on your husbandry method and feeding habits. If you are running a full blown SPS system that is fed heavily, and/or running a ULNS with something like Zeovit, BW's NeoZeo, Prodibio, vodka, etc then the 1S would not be over the top and allow you to feed ehavier for increased growth.

One of the other nice features of the 1S is that if you decide to upgrade your tank to a larger one, you can purchase another Sicce PSK2500 and have the 2S without having to purchase a whole new skimmer.

If you decide against the 1S, I would get the MSX 200 over the 160 if you have the room in your sump (which I assume you do if looking at the 1S). The 160 is really geared for people with limited sump space.
