Hello,
I bought a couple of Rod's onyx clownfish a couple months ago. Rod told me to get a carpet anemone, frogspawn, or hairy mushrooms for them to host in. He said that if they host these then they will bring their colors out. I bought frogspawn and a hairy mushroom, but no luck in the hosting department. My tank is about 40 gallons, 20" x20" X 22" high. I know that carpets get very big and am not sure if this work with my tank. Could I buy a small carpet and maybe transfer it over in a couple years or do they grow to fast? Should I just forget about it because it isn't a possibility? If I can, which one? Thanks everyone.

Lights? Do you have the lights to handle a anemone?

I believe so. I have a mh 250watt light on this tank, a 30 gallon sump, with a tunze 9010 skimmer.

if you can find a sm one like 6 to 8 in it would work for a short time! It will give you a reason to up grade to a bigger tank down the road!
