Caught this little hitchhiker in our big tank. I am guessing he's been in the tank for a while, as we have not added anything, except fish for a while now.

Is this guy a generic Mithrax (Emerald) Crab? It just so happens the Pocillipora around where we found him hanging out bleached rather quickly and PE is null. So we pulled him and he's now in a Planted 10 gallon with a bunch of Zoas/Palys. Any chance he will do those harm?

I dont trust crabs. I generally dont add anything in my tank if there's an STD named after it.

Some Mithrax & related species have hairy legs and some emeralds go after corals. The only way to be sure if it's safe - besides taking it out completely - is to keep an eye on it's behavior & your corals.

The only crabs I like are the ones on my plate. Having said that I think you should put him no where near any corals
