First of all What are you keeping? what are you measuring PH with?? And what is your Reading??

found in Waterkeepers "New to hobby - first time on RC" sticky post at the top of the forum. Make it a regular stop. Even after 10 years I still do - it's a great reference tool. And don't overlook the chemistry forum where Randy holds court

Check out that article and see if it doesn't answer your question.
I'd also question why you'd want to raise your pH, it's almost never necessary and doing so can have adverse affects on your water chemistry.

Judging from the OP's "Moved on" status... I'm guessing raising pH is the least of their worries.
