CoralVue Ballast 250w

Hello,
I recently purchased a new 250 watt ballast from Reef Specialty. I was very surprised at the high quality of this ballast. Since I already had one (so I thought) that I purchased from another on-line vendor. So the big question I have is, who made the first ballast ? It's labeled "Vue Technologies" ? It was sold to me as a CoralVue ballast.

CoralVue and Vue Technologies are one and the same. Perhaps one is newer than the other.

Oh ... OK .. I thought the older Vue Technologies was a knock-off. LOL
They are totally different. Wire up differently, size and weight. I even notice they burn my 12K DE blubs a little differently in color.

CoralVue = Bright white with a tint of blueish/purple. Real nice color.
Vue Technologies = Bright white with a tint blueish/green. (This bulb is getting old)

The older CoralVue / Vue technologies seemed to me that they burn the bulb harder than they do now. I know the newer ballast are UL Approved so I am sure some things have changed with their ballasts.

This is the response I received from CoralVue about the labeling of your ballast:

"The ballast are stamped with our company name Vue Technology. We sell these ballast to other markets beside the aquarium market so labeling them all as Coralvue Ballast is not something that we wanted to do."

"Coralvue is a DBA of Vue Technology LLC."
