curing frag plugs

I just bought some Boston aqua farms plugs and it recommends you continue to cure them. first of all does anyone use them right away without curing them first? and I plan on making some of my own, i know a lot of people cure them in a toilet tank, but is copper building up in the plugs from the supply pipes an issue? I assume not enough copper leaches out of the pipes to be an issue but i just wanna make sure. thanks

i left mine in the toilet for 3 months...didnt even think to worry about copper from the pipes...could always get a test kit and find out how bad your water is first though...
