For marine fish with internal/external parasite which one would you recommend as a broad spectrum antibiotic--Maracyn II or General Cure?

Thanks.

flameangel88,

Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend placing the infected fish in quarantine and treating with Chem-Marin Stop Parasites (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=16809) rather than Maracyn Two or General Cure. Maracyn Two is a medication for bacterial infections and will not eliminate parasites. Chem-Marin Stop Parasites (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=16809) is an all natural medication, 99% effective and is safe for all fish, invertebrates and corals. Please contact us with any other questions or concerns.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just two more question--is Stop Parasites similar to Melafix? Can Stop Parasites be used simultaneously with Prazipro?

flameangel88,

Thank you for your reply. Chem-Marin Stop Parasites and Melafix are not similar products as Melafix is used mainly for bacterial infections. The Melafix Marine formula can be used on coral to remove parasitic flatworms. However, it will not effectively treat fish with parasites.

We do not recommend treating with Chem-Marin Stop Parasites and Prazipro simultaneously as adding too many chemicals can cause more stress. This can also have a negative effect on your biological filtration.
