Im going to be suspending my aqualight pro from the ceiling.

How far should it be from the surface of the water?

I have my BULBs about 9 inches above the water surface. I am running 14ks If that matters.

The closer the better. However heat might come into play and force you to raise it some.

Depends on a number of factors, including coral response to the lighting, but in general from 6-12" is common. Will you have the ability to adjust it once it's in place?
