A friend of mine give me a small frag of Green Candy Coral, it has only two polyps, and I would like to know if this Coral can grow and get more polyps, of course having the proper conditions.

I’m making this question, because I know that there are some LPS, which are difficult to get growing.

It will grow over time so just be patient. I started with two also and eventually had well over a 100+ before fragging it a few times :)
In the 3 yrs I had mine I sold a few good frags of it and just traded a few colonies off it to a LFS for store credit and still have some in my tank.

somebody gave me a frag of 2 or so small heads about 6 months ago. now theres 4 and they are about double the size.

I didn't notice the size increase dramatically until I started feeding bits of shrimp to each head about every other day. the growth really exploded.

Yes i also was given a single head and after a few weeks and a couple spot feedings here and there, it has split into 3 heads so far. Good luck, they are a beautiful coral.

I have noticed mine seem to extend their tentacles at night. Are you guys feeding yours at night or have they been trained to extend tentacles during the day?

Do you feed the Cady Coral after the light turn off?

Mine extend at night also. I usually don't target feed mine directly but they get what floating around when I feed the rest of the tank. I may squirt brine shrimp directly in them once in a great while but not on a regular basis

I target feed mine every other night (lights out and polyps extended) at the same when I feed my cup corals. They are very happy and healthy!

By far one of my favorite corals. I really like the greens.

I bought a 13 head piece that doubled in size over about 12-15 months, and I never bothered to target feed. I think they you'll have success.

I can wait to see mine, like Gdevine's Candy Coral. Is really beautifull.

Yes, they grow very fast. I would like to get that green one as well.

You know what's funny? I took that picture some 5 weeks ago or so and they are bigger then that now:) Even here though, look how fat and juicy some of the polyps are! Target feed them some cyclops or crush up some pellets into a fine powder and when lights are out and their polyps are exposed target feed them gently and in a few weeks you'll have very happy Candy's!

The neon green is one of my favorate.
However, it is not growth as fast in my tank as in other reefers tanks.
I'm in the process of growing a forest candy can tank.
Hopefully, it turns out okay.

I personally don't spot feed... but I picked up a 3 head frag... that is probably over 15 heads now. I don't know if I could claim I would've experienced more growth had I spot fed though.

It started off slow, but I noticed that once I anchored it to something with glue, I began to experience noticeable growth.

I don't have a recent close up, but here is a decent enough pic of it, you can see it behind the birdsnest in my frag tank.

Not to get off topic here but if any of you ever frag your neon green candy cane please let me know, I'd be interested in buying a frag.
