My electric bill seems to be growing and growing. Its getting quite gross. Im curious to see what kind of electric bills you guys are experiencing. If you are willing to tell square footage and if your heat/ac is gas or electric it would make it more comparable. I want to see if I am just way out of line or not. Where did the under a hundred dollar electric bills go??????
House 1400 square feet
gas heat/cooking.
electric a/c
bill=$294.56

Wow looking at your guys tanks I guess I don't have much to complain about. It just hurts to think I have a car payment in electric bills. Time for a deltec ecochiller and some solar tubes for lighting I guess.

Keep them coming.

I guess that wouldn't be for someone with hobbies such as reefs, guns, and drinking. I hope you don't do them all at once. ;)

Holy wow!!! gas=450?? and 175=water? How is gas costing you 450? And does your ro machine have a leak if you are running 175 month for water? I think my water is running $80 month.

Unfortunately you can't even mix two of them... Let alone all three... ;)

There was a thread somewhere about people drinking and doing stupid things to their tanks... I found it thoroughly amusing... :)

I asked myself the same about the water, called and complained to the water company they had several price increases this past year, I have no leaks anywhere, for the Gas everything is gas except of course the lights, my house was built in 1918 it has been remodeled except for the back part of the house I keep it around 73 in winter months, summer time it runs about 80.00 a month, so I expect it every year.

Got my bill last night, price was so high was going to start my own thread :D.

2250 sq ft, Electric $280 (including a $54 surcharge), no idea what gas will be, prob another $80 or so.

Heat pumps w/ gas auxillary on one circuit, gas water heater and logs, otherwise electric. Going to get a kill-a-watt and figure out just how much $$ this tank is costing me.

Didn't NES just have a 25% rate hike?

In our townhouse in AC our bill was regularly around $200. Don't know the sq ft. but I do know our AC almost never shut off in summer and we only turned our heat on about 2-3 nights per year.

My electric bill for a bout 1500 square feet averages out to be about $180 (electric). Variance of $20. And i stay very cool in the summer and toasty in the winter. Look into getting a programmable thermostat. That should help bring the bills down a little bit, hopefully anyway. Water is usually around 50.

2200 sq ft
~$450 per month (got a couple of tanks;))

I calculated my electrical usage on all of the tanks (except little pest tanks I set up here and there for big crabs and funky snails, etc.) monthly and annually. I'm hoping to be able to justify solar for the tank (and add on as I can for the house).

I made guesses on amp draw based on W and 110V, but should be a decent ballpark.

1800 sq ft. All electric with heatpump. Use wood in fireplace insert all winter. Last electric bill was $280. Water usually $18-20. Upstairs heatpump out for a few year now. So we have a small space heater in the computer room, where 2 of my tanks are and a baseboard heater in our bedroom that we run at night on very cold nights.

Just got my Electric bill and they added an extra 32.00 and change to the regular bill which brought it to almost 180.00 and that's not too bad for Dec and two tanks plus heating my garage to keep my new 100gal sump warm, plus 1650sf of living space and outside lights for Christmas! Oh yeah and two big screens 24/7. think i got off pretty good, hope they didn't make a mistake.
