JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS ONE AND WHAT SIZE. WHAT OTHER FISH DO YOU HAVE WITH IT IN THE TANK AND WHAT SIZE?
I HAVE A 5-6 INCH QUEEN TRIGGER IN WITH A FEW GREEN SPOTTED PUFFERS IN A 66 GALLON TANK FOR NOW. I AM LOOKING TO TRADE THE TRIGGER IN THE FUTURE SO I CAN GET SOME DIFFERENT FISH IN THERE THAT WILL CO-EXIST WITH ONE ANOTHER,,LOL

They get along at that size with just about anything that is active too. I don't have one currently but have had them. I wouldn't add too much more though in a 66. Those puffers get pretty good sized too. Damsels though do nice as a clean up crew for a trigger occupied tank.

Most people on this board would tell you 3 6" fish in a 66 gallon tank is probably about your limit, definitely not a lot of room to add more fish.

If it was me, I'd get rid of 2 of the puffers and add some more variety and types of fish in my tank.

let me know if you ever decide to get rid of that queen trigger. I love the balistes vetula species. I had one 18" for awhile. Couldn't keep anything with her. I just got a 10" goldenheart which is in the same family as the queen trigger. Triggers are my favorite by far.

I have a 9 to 10 inch queen trigger in my 210 agressive fowlr tank.I have it in with other triggers, a couple puffers, a dwarf lion, a six line wrasse and a orchid dottyback.I only have problems when i don't feed enough or have stuff for her to move around in the tank.Hear is a recent pic.

that is a sweet queen trigger.... definantly makes me want to try one in my tank. How is his attitude & how long did it take him to get that big? I have had 2 Queens in the past, 1 was a terror & the other a complete whimp.

I have a 470g tank on order so that should give him enough room. I would just worry about attitude when he's big.

As long as i keep her feed and have stuff in the tank for her to move around she is fine.Every once in a while she will chace my bluethroat around.I think because he is a fast swimmer and the rest of the fish all swim slow.Other than that she is fine. And i got her a year and a half ago and she was about 1.5 inches.Originally posted by viggen

let me warn you now, they get huuuuuge. And are a menace when they get big. Take this advice from the guy that had the biggest QT on RC at one time. Mine was 18" not counting the tail and streamers. I miss mine. Sold her to a guy that has a 1000g tank.

dam..... didn't realize they can grow that fast

I guess I should skip the queen trigger & just get a few other triggers that do not have the attitude. I presently have a 10ish in hawian/black durgeon & I wanted to add a few different triggers when the new tank is finally up.

I would just have concerns that a really large queen trigger wouldn't work in my tank when/if it would get that big.

FYI guys, any fish shipped between US and Canada, either direction, will be stopped and destroyed. Living materials shipped between the countries require certain paperwork and permits, and is very expensive, especially for a single fish. I used to work for a company that shipped fish and other live organisms all over the US and internationally, so I'm aware of these regulations. That's why just most e-tailers in the US won't ship to Canada.

The guy was thinking he could start a bidding war for it. But he can only ship to someone in Canada if the QT needs a home I would take it but I would not pay much for it. When I can get one at LFS for a good price they sold me a 4in Map puffer for $80cdn and a 3in Clown Trigger $55cdn don't think I could much better then that.

no bidding war, simply started a thread if anyone else has one on here

It just goes to show how an innocent thread can get out of hand. Fishin was only asking for some knowledge, and it turned into what resembled a "Japanese Tuna Market"

I caught two queen triggers on a rod and reel in the carribean a few weeks ago...then I gave it to one of the waiters on the cruise ship we were on...
they brought it to the chefs on board -they cooked it up ....
mmmm....mmmm....good !!!
