save your $$ for coral. you don't need to skim if you perform weekly water changes. my AP12 has been running for over a year with no skimmer and everything is doing just fine.

I agree with thin crust. However if you want the piece of mind there is the oceanic nano skimmer. And with a simple mod you can even put a overflow waste collector on it. I used it on my old nano when I was in college and couldn't keep up with the weekly changes and it di fine. And I think it wasn't all the expensive either.
