I ordered a new MSX 250 yesterday. I talked to Jeff a couple of times about modding my NW200 with a new pump. After agreeing I needed something bigger for my future plans, I then decided to purchase a MSX 250. Thanks for the help Jeff . I really appreciate the customer service and even the call backs after hours. I can't wait to get my hand's on this thing. I am currently building a new sump. I was wondering what depth of water people seeing the best results placing this skimmer in. I want to set the overflow in my sump to the optimum height . Also , has anyone added the longer neck/ collection cup to their skimmer after running it "box stock" for awhile? If yes, was it worth it? Thanks in advance.

I'm glad we could help Keith...you won't be disappointed ;)
The 250's seem to run best in about 8.5-9" of water. Most folks like to have their baffles a little higher than that for the extra water volume and just build a stand for the skimmer to sit on. Of course, if you are limited on height inside the stand you can build the baffle at 8.5-9". I would suggest that you build your baffle a little higher...you can always raise the skimmer, but it's pretty tough to "stretch" your baffle to be taller

Yeah, I will probably make the baffle taller and adjust the skimmer with a stand. The sump is in the basement therefore height is not an issue.
