Hello
I brought a Volitan Lionfish. The first day i gave him some fedders to eat. Then i started to give hime what i give my other fish in the tank. I give them frozen krill, clams, mysis shrimp, spurlina. When i feed them the lionfish eats the krill but looks like is chocking on them could it be the shells on the krill??. He eats it and does not bring anything back up. Any suggestions on maybe some other foods or just keep giving him what i give all the other fish. I don't want to start giving him fedders cause then he will get used to that and then eat nothing else. Any help would be great thanks

what kind of feeders - goldfish, guppies, minnows? some are better than others, goldfish, really bad.

try offering him gutloaded ghost shrimp, then some injured/killed ones along with the live, then finally dead ones. you can target feed with tongs. usually volitans are not to hard to train to frozen. look at the pinned post at the top of this forum on scorps and lionfish - there is an informative Reefkeeping article that will be helpful for you to read.
