What size is the best for DSB? Can one do a mix of sugar and larger size on top of that? And what is the best brand of sand?
Thanks

Crashrat, I see you missed the DSB controversy on this site a few years ago.

Here's some information to get you started: http://www.ronshimek.com/deep_sand_beds.html

Basic rules. A DSB should be 4" deep minimum. If the footprint of your tank is less than about 36" x 18", a DSB is more trouble than its worth. Any sugar size sand, silica or aragonite, is fine. After setting up, seed the bed with some live sand to get some sand bugs and worms into it.
