I have an acrylic taknk 36"long by 20 " wide by 29 1\2" tall.
It's 1\2" thick with a 3" brace along the top.
What I'm wondering is if I can take the center brace out to make one large hole insted of two smaller ones without making the tank structure weak.

Any advice would certenly be appreciated.:)

unfortunately you can't get rid of the center brace on your tank. I wouldn't suggest it with 1/2" acrylic. you can always euro brace it though, that's an idea

I was thinking if I took the middle out it would basicly be a 3"euro brace?

I agree. I'm not certain why you would need the center brace. But don't trust me.

This is the first acrylic tank i've had and I'm not digging these small holes in the top...
I need wide open spaces.lol

Oh, I completely skipped the part where it had a brace on the top.... Screw it, cut the center brace out... there's no reason a 3" brace wouldn't hold the tank.
