So i picked up this 72x18x19 tank from a buddy of mine at my workplace. I'd like to drill some holes in one side for an overflow box but I'm not sure if the glass is tempered or not. The glass is 1/2' thick on the sides, can't tell about the bottom. The tank also has no braces on the top. I've tried looking at the tank through polarized glasses and saw no patterns. Also the one corner has a decent chip in the glass. Between the chip, the polarized glasses, and the thickness i'd like to think that it's regular glass. What do you think?

You could always just start drilling...........too bad you wont know till the end.

Do you know who makes the tank?

Don't know who made the tank, no markings on it either. I'll probably end up just drilling. *crosses fingers and says prayers*

tempered glass will 90% of the time have a marking. no marking, i would just drill it.
