Hey guys,

I have a good sized clump of chaetomorpha in my hob aquafuge 2 ps. I have a quick question about lighting; I have it under pretty good lighting right now, and was just wondering if this is an adequate time of lighting. Just so you know, the tank is in my room, so the lighting cannot be on at night. I was thinking of just doing from 8am-1pm, and then 8pm to 11pm; this is a total of 8 hours per day, which I know is quite little, but let me explain my reasoning. I hear it is good to have the lights on as much as possible when the light is not on, to try and reduce the pH swing. (can't have on at night though) Does this sound like an alright plan?

Thanks!

Would it not be possible to incase the light in something like dark acrylic and aim the open side of it torward the wall so that the light didn't show other than maybe a soft glow from around the seam between the case and the wall??

Might as well keep it on the entire time as the the display and also the outer times. i.e. 8am-lights on and the lights off to 11pm. No reason to shut it off during DT times.
