My tank is just over 3 months old. When I first put the live rock in my tank I noticed one lonesome pineapple sponge. Just recently the population seems to have exploded in my tank, but 95% of them are in my sump, even inside my skimmer. Should I let them all be, or will they end up being a headache later on?

Thanks in advance

Mike

do you use RO water? I know sponges need silicate to grow. Limiting available silicates could slow growth if you find them unsightly. FOr the most part they are considered harmless.

I'm using those 18L (4 gallon) jugs from polaris for my top off and mixing water. Polaris jugs say it's RO water. Is there any other source the silicates could come from? Also is there any way to test for silicates?
