I was thinking about trying a inline heater on a setup. Never tried one before.
Any pros or cons to using it?
Thanks

Tagging along, to see the answers. Space permitting, I'm thinking of installing a Hydor ETH 200w heater as part of my new CAD 39G build.
Only con I can see now is the need to pull it once in a while for internal cleaning.

I've never used the Hydor ETH but a user survey at the Cichlid Forums (http://www.cichlid-forum.com/reviews/category_display.php?CatID=701) ranks it at the top of 14 aquarium heaters. Notable is the fact that of the 25 user comments, none reported a failure.

I used a ETH 300 W inline heater for my 75 gallon planted tank. It was the best heater I have used. The thermostat is better than most hobby heaters. I used it with a canister filter so the flow was only about 250 gph.
Thanks for thread and pjf for the link. I was just considering either one of these or the Eheim canister with heating element built in for my FW tank.... Hydor it is...
