AHHH! What is this thing?! I scrubbed the back of my tank and suddenly these things were swimming everywhere. They latch on to stuff. Possibly a hydroid jellyfish? Does anyone know anything about them?

On Melev's Reef in his ID section he says it is a Cladonema jellyfish. I had them in my aquapod 24 for a bit during my cycle. Eventually they went away. As far as I could tell they were not harmful.

Same here, had them when I cycled, then they went away.

Here's my image:

I didn't trim the photo, so you'd have to follow the link. Anyhow, they're reef safe-ish. If you had hundreds of them, they can land on and sting corals. But a few (and since they'll likely die off) shouldn't be a concern.

Well now, i was wondering about those critters. I had them early on too. Haven't seen them anymore in my tanks.
